Information on the project "Renewal of meteorological services in Central Asia (additional funding) component "C"

            Additional funding under the Central Asia Meteorological Services Renewal Project (Additional Funding), Component C, will provide the following opportunities: (i) to implement measures that were limited in the first phase of the project due to insufficient grant funding. (ii) expand the scope of the procurement sector, including the purchase of meteorological equipment; and (iii) implement new activities that will enable the project to achieve its development goals.

Areas of activity (part or component) of the project

Component C of the Project consists of the following sections:

Component C.1 - Institutional Strengthening, Strengthening the Human Resource Base and Improving Financial Models of the Hydrometeorological Agency;

Component C.2 - Updating the meteorological monitoring system;

Component C.3 - Improvement of the Meteorological Agency's service system;

Component C.4 - Support for the implementation of Part C of the project

Project implementation period

Project start - October 18, 2019                

Completion of the project was scheduled for March 31, 2021. At the request of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, the deadline for the project was extended until March 31, 2023.
