Information about the project "Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in the Aral Sea Basin (CAMP4ASB)"
Goals and objectives of the project
The main goal of the regional project "Climate change adaptation and mitigation of its impact in the Aral Sea basin" is regional cooperation in the fight against the challenges of climate change. The project will provide comprehensive support for the development of information, institutions, and investment opportunities resilient to climate change in Central Asia.
To achieve these objectives, the Committee will primarily strengthen coordination mechanisms, regulate the collection, exchange and analysis of information on a regular basis to support decision-making, and foster innovation and climate resilience.
Directions of project activities
The project consists of three components:
1. Regional Services to Raise Climate Awareness.
Executor: Central Asian Regional Environmental Center.
Under this section, it is planned to implement the following activities:
· Creation of information networks on climate change issues.
· Equipping observational and meteorological networks;
· Conducting research on topics related to the risks of climate change;
· Develop a concept for assessing financing factors taking into account climate change.
2. Regional instrument for investing in the impacts of climate change.
Executor: Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.
3. Regional and national coordinationExecutor: Ministry of Finance and partially the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

End of the project: April 30, 2022
