Information about the project "Water Resources Management in the Pyanj River Basin" (additional funding)

                          The project "Water Resources Management in the Pyanj River Basin" (additional funding) is being implemented with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project was established by the Agency for Meteorology of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Agency for Meteorology was identified as the Project Implementation Agency (AP).

                               Tasks and goals of the project.

Transformation of the Meteorological Agency into a strong structure with sustainable capacity and resources in order to improve service levels and forecast natural disasters (floods) in the Pyanj River Basin.

                               Activities (components) of the project

Component 1:                Reconstruction of the main building and services of the meteorological agency;

Component 2:                Organizational and legal reorganization of the Agency for Meteorology;  

Component 3:                Improvement of the flood forecasting and warning system in the Pyanj river basin;

Component 4:                Marketing of Agency Information Services
