The United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) (entry date May 15, 1997), consists of the following 3 goals: - conservation of biological diversity; - rational and sustainable use of components of biological diversity; - achievement of mutual benefit based on fairness and equity, which depends on the use of genetic resources, including through receiving the genetic resources and the allocation of owned appropriate technology, taking into account all rights, as well as resources and technologies.
The Republic of Tajikistan has achieved success in a number of political, strategic, economic and environmental interests at the republican, regional and global levels in accordance with the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and the protocols on entry to it.
In the political arena, the Leader of the Nation, esteemed Emomali Rahmon has expressed gratitude to the United Nations and acquainted people around the world with the achievements of Tajikistan in the field of hygiene of biological diversity at UNESCO. After the keynote speech of the Leader of the Nation, people all over the world paid attention to the biological wealth of the country, and a lot of financial and technical assistance was rendered to our state. During this period, a total of approximately USD 100 million was provided as a technical assistance in the field of ecology and environmental protection. The provision of these assistance is significant for obtaining good results in favor of regulating the environmental situation in all corners of our country.
