General information about the Green Climate Fund
In 2010, the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) established the Green Climate Fund to support developing countries in their efforts to respond to the threats of climate change.
The fund is a key element in the implementation of the Paris Agreement on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and is the largest climate fund in the world, designed to support developing countries in implementing their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and achieving their climate adaptation and resilience goals.
