On May 4, a republican scientific and theoretical conference on "Ecological problems of natural areas of the Republic of Tajikistan" was held in the main building of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S. Ayni with the support of the Main Department of Environmental Protection in the city of Dushanbe as part of a series of scientific events dedicated to the "Day of Environmental Education", "The twentieth Anniversary of teaching and development of natural, exact and mathematical sciences in the field of science and education" and the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018 - 2028".

Rahimzoda Nurullo, Head of the Main Department of Environmental Protection of the city of Dushanbe, made a report on the topic, in which he noted that on the basis of the implementation of the "State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Enlightenment of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025", a corresponding resolution of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the city of Dushanbe was adopted in March 2022 and is currently being implemented.

Over the past 5 years, the image of Dushanbe has changed, the culture and ecological consciousness of the residents have changed and their attitude to cleaning and landscaping has improved.

Citizens, with a sense of responsibility for environmental problems, take an active part in the events and community cleanups, which are held every week on Saturdays and Sundays.

In this regard, the contribution of the capital's universities is significant, especially teachers and students of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S. Ayni.

The conference topics were divided into three sections: 1. The impact of climate change on natural resources; 2. Environmental problems of the use of natural resources and waste; 3. "Issues of environmental education and training of specialists in the field of environmental protection", a total of 62 reports were read.
