Message of Congratulations from the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the Occasion of World Environment Day             

                                          

Dear colleagues,

I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of World Environment Day, which is celebrated annually on June 5.

This day, as an important international date, highlights the great significance of environmental protection and the sustainable development of human society. Today, more than ever, there is a pressing need for broad international cooperation aimed at preserving and treating nature the source of human life with care and respect.

Under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Republic of Tajikistan in recent years has launched a number of global initiatives in the field of environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources. Addressing global environmental issues including climate change adaptation, glacier preservation, and sustainable water resource management is a priority direction of the country's environmental policy.

The Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, together with its subordinate structures, civil society, and other state institutions, is making efforts to preserve the country's unique natural resources, improve the state of the environment, and raise public environmental awareness especially among children and youth through educational and outreach activities.

As the global population's demand for natural resources continues to grow daily, it is increasingly important to address issues of ecological diversity, ensure the rational use of natural resources by users, and work toward their preservation and augmentation.
