Forum 8: Women Leading the Way in Glacier Preservation                   

                                          

Glacier2025 proudly hosted the Women Forum on Glaciers’ Preservation, marking a historic moment as Tajikistan assumes the chairmanship of the Central Asian Women’s Dialogue in 2025.

Organised with the support of UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), UN Women, UNFPA, and national partners, the Forum brought together women leaders, policymakers, scientists, and advocates to spotlight the essential role of women in protecting glaciers, safeguarding water resources, and driving climate resilience across the region.

From sharing successful initiatives in glacier conservation to strengthening partnerships for sustainable development, the Forum created a platform for action, dialogue, and solidarity. As climate change accelerates glacier melt, it is women who are leading local solutions with global impact.

Their message is clear: sustainable futures start with empowered women.
