Working Visit of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection to Murghab District
From March 18 to March 22, 2025, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahmonzoda Loiq, paid a working visit to Murghab District in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in connection with the implementation of a government directive on the celebration of the International Navruz Festival in the district. During the visit, he visited the rural jamoats of G. Berdibayev, Kizilrabot, Rangkul, Alichur, and the town of Murghab.
As part of the trip, the Deputy Chairman, together with the Chairman of Murghab District, Rajabzoda Husniya, and the head of the district environmental protection department, reviewed the progress of construction and improvement works in preparation for the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, as well as the implementation of relevant measures at key festive sites.
During visits to educational institutions, kindergartens, rural jamoats, the "Tajikistan" hydroelectric power station, a confectionery workshop, the district central hospital, the GKNB building in Murghab, and the construction sites of the meat and dairy pavilion and the pedestrian bridge at the "Tajikistan" hydroelectric power station, the working conditions of greenhouses built in the district center were inspected.
In the GKNB building of the Republic of Tajikistan in Murghab, which is financed by the State Committee for National Security, 92% of the construction work has been completed. Additionally, the construction of a pedestrian bridge in the area of the "Tajikistan" hydroelectric power station is planned under environmental projects of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and is expected to be completed by National Unity Day.
In 2023, at the initiative of local authorities and with the support of development partners, seven seasonal greenhouses were built in the rural jamoat of Alichur and three in the town of Murghab. Throughout 2023 and 2024, these greenhouses successfully cultivated vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and various greens. In 2024, the Committee for Environmental Protection began the construction of a 400 m² greenhouse in the district center, which was put into operation for the 33rd anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence. Additionally, in 2024, five seasonal greenhouses were built in Alichur with funds from the GBAO Investment and Development Corporation.
Major repairs of the surgical and pediatric departments of the district central hospital, funded by UNICEF Tajikistan, began in 2024 and are expected to be completed by National Unity Day.
During visits to secondary schools, medical institutions, and the boarding school in the villages of Tokhtamysh and Shaimok in the Kizilrabot rural jamoat, an assessment of their conditions and operations was conducted.
On March 21, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee participated in the Navruz celebrations at military units 04-12 of the Border Troops and 15426 of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan in Murghab. He congratulated officers and soldiers on the International Navruz Holiday on behalf of the Government and the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection and organized a festive meal for the servicemen.
As part of the "Electrification of Rural Areas in Tajikistan" project, the construction of a 10-04 kV power line, the installation of meters, and internal electrical wiring in homes in the villages of Alichur, Chechekti, Bashgumbez, Bulunkul, and Khargush have been completed. In the villages of Tokhtamysh, Shaimok, Rangkul, and Karakul, the construction of a 10-04 kV power line is ongoing, with all necessary equipment already delivered to the district.
For the youth of Tokhtamysh village in the Kizilrabot rural jamoat, the construction of a football field has been planned and is expected to be completed by National Unity Day.
Additionally, for the greening of the boarding school area in Shaimok village, one hectare of land has been allocated, and 400 meters of fencing with posts have been installed.
As part of the implementation of development programs, the expansion of beautification and landscaping efforts, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee held meetings with the heads of urban and rural jamoats, giving relevant instructions to ensure timely completion of the work.
