Celebration of the International Navruz Holiday at the Committee

Navruz is a symbol of the creation of the world, the revival of nature, and one of the oldest traditions and richest cultural heritages of the Tajik and Persian peoples. Today, it has gained international status, representing our national values to the world.

In honor of this ancient holiday of our ancestors, on March 20, 2025, a festive celebration of International Navruz was held in the courtyard of the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was attended by the leadership, employees of the central office and subordinate structures of the Committee, as well as guests.

At the opening ceremony, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Isfandiyor Shukurzoda, congratulated those present on the Navruz holiday. He specifically noted that thanks to the wise initiatives of the worthy successor of our ancestors, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, Navruz was granted international status on February 23, 2010, during the 64th session of the UN General Assembly within the framework of "World Civilization." For 15 years now, it has been celebrated in different countries around the world.

As part of the Committee's Navruz celebrations, traditional crafts and household items of our ancestors were presented, showcasing the folk art of the Badakhshan, Khatlon, and Sughd regions, as well as the districts of republican subordination. The festive atmosphere was also enhanced by tables adorned with Haft-Sin and Haft-Shin displays, as well as dishes of national cuisine. Traditional characters such as Malikai Navruz and Boboi Dehkon added special beauty and elegance to the event.

Singing, poetry, and sports competitions—including chess, checkers, table tennis, and other traditional games—became an integral part of the Committee’s celebration.

At the conclusion of the event, winners in categories such as festive tables, folk crafts, Haft-Sin and Haft-Shin, and sports competitions were awarded commemorative gifts.

The celebration continued with a festive feast, featuring performances by talented artists who brightened the evening with melodious songs and lively dances.
