Meeting of the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection with the British Ambassador                 

                                          

On January 13, 2025, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon and the British Ambassador Catherine Smithton.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the Committee and the United Kingdom, the Committee's achievements in COP-29, the Committee's plans for the International Conference COP-30 and the Committee's views on Tajikistan's accession to the Coal-Free Energy Coalition were discussed.

At the same time, the parties discussed issues of preparation for the high-level international conference on glacier protection, which will be held in Dushanbe in May 2025, and agreed on close and mutually beneficial cooperation.

As a result, the Chairman of the Committee Sheralizoda B. A. congratulated Ms. Catherine Smithton on her new appointment and wished her success in her future work.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding and all other topics were discussed.
