Meeting of the Committee Chairman with the new ADB Resident Representative in Tajikistan                   

                                          

On December 16 this year, the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted a meeting between the Chairman of the Committee Bahodur Sheralizoda and Mr. Ko Sakamoto, the new Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank in Tajikistan.

At the meeting, the parties discussed a number of ongoing projects, including the implementation of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Financial Plan, developed with ADB technical support in 2024. The parties also discussed prospects for future cooperation and agreed to strengthen interaction and partnership in the field of ecology and combating climate change.

The parties also discussed issues related to preparations for the International High-Level Conference on Glacier Conservation, which will be held in Dushanbe at the end of May 2025, and agreed on close cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee congratulated Mr. Sakamoto on his appointment and wished him success.
