On September 6, 2024, the official opening of the international mountain Eco-half marathon (trailing) took place, which takes place in the Haftkul zone of the city of Penjikent, dedicated to the 33th State Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Bahodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee on Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Zulfikor Gulakhmadzoda, the leadership of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and representatives of local authorities made a welcoming speech.

During the speech of the Chairman of the Committee of Sheralizod Bakhodur, it was noted that the purpose of this half marathon is to popularise running and popularise sports in general, develop an environmentally friendly lifestyle, promote eco-tourism, and unite young people with sports. Such international competitions are useful for promoting the values of a healthy lifestyle, improving the ecological condition of settlements and raising the level of environmental awareness of the population.

About 200 athletes from more than 33 countries take part in this IVF half marathon. Athletes compete at three distances: 3, 10 and 21 kilometres.

The race will be held on September 7 and the winners of this marathon will be awarded with cash prizes and diplomas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree.
