Adoption of the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the State program for greening the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2040"
The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan adopted the Resolution "On the state program for greening the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2040", which was developed by the Committee together with other ministries and departments, submitted for consideration to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan based on the instruction of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon, set out in the annual message of the Majlisi Oli of the country "On the main directions of domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan" to improve the environmental situation in the country, prevent adverse effects of climate change and create favorable living conditions for the population.
The implementation of specific activities of the program is aimed at greening the country's territory, planting and growing trees and shrubs on the territory of each street and jamoat, administrative institutions, regardless of ownership, military units, industrial enterprises, cemeteries, landfills, hillsides, lands of the state forest fund adjacent to highways, roads, river banks and along streams.
The implementation of the developed program ensures the improvement of the legislative framework of the industry, the prevention of adverse effects of climate change, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the maintenance of a stable state of atmospheric air, sustainable natural balance, and rational management of flora and fauna.
Following the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Strategic Planning and State Forecasting", an action plan for the program for the first stage, 2025-2027, has been developed, during which it is planned to plant 10 million 927 thousand 758 seedlings and shrubs.
Financing for the implementation of the program action plan is carried out within the framework of the allocated funds of the state budget, sources of domestic and foreign investment, the private sector, and other sources not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan. To systematically determine the progress of seedlings and plant development, a monitoring and evaluation system is being introduced, which is organized and provided by the Committee for Environmental Protection using modern methods.
