Tirgon holiday in Iram park in Dushanbe
On June 30, 2024, the Tirgon holiday, a holiday of apricots and a demonstration of dried fruits of Tajikistan, took place in the Iram park in Dushanbe. At the festival, dozens of products from fruit processing enterprises and high-quality packaging equipment were presented.
Also, residents and guests of the capital were offered various varieties of apricot fruits, products made from them - juice, syrup, seasonings and water. It was also noted that on this day, rural residents of the country sold fresh and dried fruits, plums, cherries, peaches, apples and grain crops, melons, including watermelons and melons, at prices below market prices.
As you know, Tirgon is one of four holidays, such as Navruz, Sada, Mehrgon, and this holiday is also called the holiday of farmers. At the event, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdullo Rahmonzoda made a speech on issues of social development and public relations and praised the revival of the Tirgon holiday, which is associated with water, as well as with the preparation of farmers for the wheat harvest. In particular, it was noted that the international proposals of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, to provide the world population with water, its effective and rational use, and the adoption of the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028” are related to the customs and traditions of our ancient national holiday - Tirgona.
As a result, active participants were awarded diplomas and commendations from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
