Meeting of the Chairman of the Environmental Protection Committee with the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan                 

                                          

On February 13, 2024, on the sidelines of the Fourteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (COP14 CMS), a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon, and the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Abdukhakimov Aziz Abdukaharovich.

Within the framework of this bilateral meeting, issues of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, cooperation in increasing the population of urials and other wild animals and birds in specially protected natural areas, and joint activities related to with strengthening the knowledge of specialists in the management of protected areas and several other important issues.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, and the Chairman of the Committee invited Minister Abdukhakimov to the International Conference “Water for Sustainable Development”, which is planned to be held in June 2024 in the city of Dushanbe.
