Meeting of the Chairman of the Sheralizoda Committee Bakhodur Ahmadjon with the mission of the International Fund for Agricultural Development                   

                                          

On November 27 of this year, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sheralizoda Bakhodur Ahmadjon, and the delegation of the International Fund for Agricultural Development led by Mr. Roberto Longo, the program director of this fund for Tajikistan. The meeting discussed issues related to the launch of a new government investment project called Community Agriculture Support Plus (CASP+).

The goal of this project is to help improve the standard of living of the population of beneficiaries and 21 subordinate districts of Khatlon region, Sughd region and districts of republican subordination by implementing measures taking into account adaptation to climate change, restoring landscapes and improving the condition of pastures.

Financing of this project is envisaged by attracting funds from the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the Green Climate Fund and the Global Environment Facility. Currently, on the basis of a financial agreement signed between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, financing has begun only from this fund.

Given the importance of this project, the Committee was asked to take specific measures to complete the necessary procedures related to attracting funds from the Green Climate Fund and the Global Environment Facility.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in other areas related to the successful implementation of this project.
