Environmental actions in the city of Gissar                 

                                          

In pursuance of the instructions of the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the fulfillment of the instructions of the Chairman of the city of Gissar to carry out the campaigns “Cleanliness of the Coast”, “Cleanliness of the Area” and “Cleanliness of the Road” in 2023, at the initiative of the Department of Environmental Protection in the city of Gissar on in the territory of rural jamoats of the city of Gissar, around educational institution No. 1, with the participation of 400 teachers and students, waste was collected from watercourses and the surrounding area of this institution.

Also, with the involvement of more than 20 residents and activists, “Cleanliness of the Coast” and “Cleanliness of the Road” campaigns were held on the territory of the Navobod rural community of the city of Gissar. 1.2 m³ of waste was collected from watercourses and adjacent areas on the Dushanbe-Gissar-Tursunzade highway and transported to an official landfill.

During the collective cleanup, its participants cleaned more than 500 m of streams adjacent to the local roads of the above-mentioned settlements and to the Dushanbe-Gissar-Tursunzade highway, where only 4.2 m³ of garbage was collected and taken to the municipal landfill.
