Visiting meeting of the Board of the Committee in Sughd region                 

                                          

On November 10 of this year, a visiting meeting of the Committee was held in the city of Khujand with the participation of the leadership of the Environmental Protection Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Executive Body of the state Authority of the Sughd region, heads of subordinate structures of the central office of the Committee, the governing bodies of environmental protection in the Sughd and Khatlon regions, the city of Dushanbe, individual cities and districts of the republic, officials municipal institutions of the Sughd region.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon. It considered 3 issues related to environmental protection, such as measures to improve the ecological condition of water treatment plants, drains to maintain the purity and order of the water of streams and rivers, including transboundary waters.; discussion of the results of the audit of the activities of the Department of Environmental Protection in Sughd region for 9 months by the working group, as well as discussion of the results of the activities of the Committee and its subordinate structures for October 2023.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee Kiyomzoda Z. and the Head of the Department of Monitoring, Environmental Policy, Hydrometeorology and Cadastre Shukurov I. made reports at the meeting.

The Chairman of the Committee expressed his opinion on the issues on the agenda of the meeting, in particular, noted that the main goal of the Committees and its bodies in the process of state control is to increase the level of environmental literacy of the population, improve the ecological condition of each microdistrict and street, in general, each city, region and country.

Taking into account the increase in the population and residential facilities, it is necessary to take urgent measures to improve environmental protection and environmental safety of citizens, the Chairman of the Committee noted at the meeting.

Such field meetings facilitate the exchange of experience, familiarization with relevant local facilities, elimination of existing shortcomings and the introduction of best practices and work in other cities and districts to improve the environment.
