On November 13 of this year, a meeting of the interdepartmental working group No. 11 was held at the Hilton Hotel “Environmental protection, emergencies and climate change” within the framework of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting was opened by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection Kiyomzoda Z.S. with an introductory speech and expressed her opinion on the importance of the issues under consideration. It was noted that in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the country, the “National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030” was developed and approved, which takes into account and develops the country's commitments to achieve 17 goals. It was also noted at the meeting that the issues of waste management, biodiversity, the adoption of new obligations on emissions into the atmosphere at the national level, as well as issues of natural disasters should be properly considered and summed up.

Head of the Department of Monitoring, Environmental Policy, Hydrometeorology and Cadastre of the Committee for Environmental Protection Shukurov Isfandye provided information on the main tasks of the interdepartmental working group No. 11 “Environmental protection, emergencies and climate change”, noted the existing results and problems under the items of the medium-term development program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.

Representatives of the Committee on Environmental Protection Abdualimov Karimjon, Irgashev Sukhrob, Sorbon Sirodzhiddin, Saidov Sattor also spoke at the meeting on waste management, biodiversity and contributions identified at the national level.

Representatives of the Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Makhmadov Tajiddin, Abdurakhimov Ilham and Khaliknazarov Loik provided information on the results of the meeting on the topic "The task of strengthening the system of coordination and cooperation in the direction of climate change issues and early warning systems about the danger of natural disasters."

At the end of the session, a discussion on the issues of discussions took place, the participants expressed their opinion on strengthening the work of the Interdepartmental Working Group.
