Central Asian countries will develop a mechanism for a unified strategy for action in climate change negotiations
Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr Bahodur Sheralizoda took part in a meeting between delegations of Central Asian countries on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Climate Change.
This meeting was organized to strengthen the regional position and voice of the Central Asian countries in the negotiation processes on climate change at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) a consultative meeting was held with international observers and international negotiation consultants.
During the meeting, prospects and strategies for more active participation of the countries of the Central Asian region in the main directions of COP28 were discussed. The agenda of the meeting included a discussion of the stocktaking report, the loss and damage fund, climate finance, as well as the implementation of key points of the Paris Agreement.
In turn, international observers and consultants on the COP28 negotiation processes introduced participants to the key aspects of the discussion sessions.
