Meeting with the Global Green Growth Institute to strengthen co-operation on climate change

                 

                                          

On 17 November 2023 in Seoul (South Korea) at the headquarters of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), a delegation of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan met with representatives of GGGI. The main purpose of the meeting was to expand co-operation between Tajikistan and GGGI in addressing climate change issues.

The Parties held a constructive dialogue on various topics related to climate action. First of all, the discussion was about expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and GGGI, in particular, in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and attracting investments in the field of combating climate change.

The meeting also emphasised the importance of regional cooperation in addressing climate change issues, given the transboundary nature of environmental problems.

GGGI representatives highly appreciated Tajikistan's commitment to addressing climate change and its proactive approach to environmental protection. GGGI confirmed its readiness for further co-operation with Tajikistan.

It should be recalled that the Global Green Growth Institute is one of the international intergovernmental organizations, the main goal of this institute is to support sustainable development in developing countries.
