Meeting of Mr. Jamil Ahmad with members of the eco-journalistic club of the Environmental Protection Committee, representatives of the private sector and public organizations                   

                                          

In the context of modern globalization and the clash of national interests, environmental protection is considered an important issue of this process. At the international level, the adoption of the global initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon in the field of water and climate, in particular, the promotion of the issue of the protection of glaciers of the Republic of Tajikistan at the UN level is an important step in nature conservation for the whole world. In this regard, in order to achieve constructive goals and objectives for the protection of the environment and especially glacial resources, each subject of this process should take the initiative to ensure that the world community has achieved its highest goals.

With the assistance and invitation of the Environmental Protection Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of his working trip, the Head of the International Relations Department of the United Nations Environmental Protection Program in New York, Mr. Jamil Ahmad, held a meeting with members of the eco-journalistic club of the Environmental Protection Committee, representatives of the private sector and public organizations at the hotel "Hilton." Mr. Jamil Ahmed made a presentation on the topic of environmental protection, in particular, stating that climate change and an unprecedented increase in the average temperature of the planet Earth, negative consequences for human life in recent years can lead to rapid melting of glaciers, along with an increase in water consumption, which is associated with population growth and economic development.

During the meeting, the head of the Center for Environmental Information, Propaganda and Computer Programming of the Committee, Tilloi Gulrukhsor, spoke on the implementation of state programs in the direction of environmental protection, including the implementation of the "State Comprehensive Program for the development of education and environmental education of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025".

Then a lengthy question and answer session was held, during which respondents paid more attention to the issues of financing and implementation of international environmental conventions, joint cooperation, involvement of the media in environmental events, and other everyday issues related to environmental protection and climate change. Mr. Jamil Ahmed gave concrete answers to numerous questions from the participants.

Such events contribute to familiarization, study of the current state, further cooperation in the field of environmental protection, ecology, climate change, early implementation of plans and strategies developed in this direction, other related areas for the conservation and improvement of nature, prevention of destruction of flora and fauna and informing a wide range of the population on environmental issues.
