Visit of Mr. Jamil Ahmad to the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan                   

                                          

Within the framework of the working visit of Mr. Jamil Ahmad, Head of the Department of International Relations of the UN Environment Program in New York, to the Republic of Tajikistan, which took place on 29-31 October 2023, an open lesson on environmental protection with teachers and students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was held on 31 October.

Together with representatives of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Jamil Ahmad visited the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The delegation of guests was welcomed by the heads of this institution. At the same time, the guests under the leadership of the Rector of the Academy, Doctor of Law, Professor Gafurzoda Abduhalil Davlatali familiarized themselves with the achievements of the Academy, within the framework of the round table the Rector presented information on the activities of this institution. In particular, it was noted that the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is an institution of higher professional education and postgraduate education and implements educational programs, research works, and internships of specialists in the field of public administration on professional management, retraining, advanced training, civil servants in the Republic of Tajikistan.

After introducing the audience, teachers, library, and information centers, an open class was held in one of the halls of the Academy with the participation of students and teachers on the topic of environmental protection and ecology. Mr. Jamil Ahmad explained the purpose of the UN Environment Program in his presentation and then a question and answer session was held.

At the end, Mr. Jamil Ahmad expressed his satisfaction that Tajik youth are very interested in various issues, particularly those related to environmental protection, and their questions are scientific, analytical, and logical. The aforementioned added that all the questions asked will be submitted to this world-renowned environmental organization for consideration and further use.

Holding such events promotes familiarization, the study of current status, and further cooperation in the field of environmental protection, ecology, climate change, and other related areas to attract and channel funds for conservation and improvement of nature, prevention of extinction of flora and fauna.
