Meeting with Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the UN Office for Partnership Development Project Services                   

                                          

On September 28, 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Mavlododa A.M. met with Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of UNOPS (UN Office for Project Services) on Partnership Development with Mr. Rastislav Virbensky.  

During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of environmental protection, climate change, waste management and desertification were discussed. The Deputy Chairman of the Committee noted the need to provide technical assistance to study the state of glaciers, modernize laboratories, and equip the Central Asian Regional Waste Management Center in Dushanbe.  Issues related to the preparation of the Tajik pavilion at the COP-28 in Dubai were also discussed. The Committee invited the management of UNOPS to consider the possibility of providing information materials and holding a website event in the pavilion of Tajikistan.

Mr. Rostislav Virbensky expressed interest in participating in the pavilion of Tajikistan and in strengthening cooperation between the Committee and UNOPS.
