Aerial observations and scientific fieldwork on glaciers of the upper Zarafshan River basin

              

                                          

The Committee for EnvironmentalProtection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the Agency for Hydrometeorology annually in the off-season conducts research work to determine snow reserves and the state of the country's glaciers by organizing expeditions and aerial visual observations.

To implement the fifth initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan dear Emomali Rahmon on declaring 2025 "International Year of GlacierPreservation" and implementation of the action plan of the "State Program on Study and Protection of Glaciers of Tajikistan for 2010-2030" On September 26 of the current year on the glaciers of the upper basin of the Zarafshan River were conducted aerial visual observations and scientific fieldwork, which was attended by industry experts, including the direct chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon and Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology Qurbonzoda Abdullo.

Industry specialists to determine the current state of glaciers in the Zarafshan River basin conducted aerial visual observations over the glacier of this area, and on the glacier tongue with the use of industry equipment carried out practical and research work to obtain relevant results.
