Meeting of the CEP Chairman with the Director of the Saudi Fund for Development              

                                          

On September 21, 2023, on the margins of the 45th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, a bilateral meeting was held between Mr. Sheralizoda Bakhodur Ahdmajon, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Mr. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Director of the Saudi Fund for Development.

During this meeting Mr. Sheralizoda B.A. discussed the issues of current environmental policy, participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Emomali Rahmon in the field of water resources and climate change, including the International Conference on Glacier Protection planned for 2025 in Dushanbe, as well as other important related issues.

In the final part of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between Tajikistan and the above-mentioned Fund in the field of climate change and environmental protection. The Chairman of the Committee also invited Mr. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad to visit the Republic of Tajikistan in due course.
