Participants of the “Access to Khujand” micro-scholarship program (Imdodi Gairat) took part in the annual USANT regional conference on environmental education under their project “Access Readers Against Waste” received a small grant and contributed to the cleanliness of the urban environment.
As part of this project, activists have installed more than 12 small rubbish bins in three micro-districts of the city of Khujand. These boxes are mainly located in public places, in front of the DDKhBST lyceum, a branch of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, the Safiya store, the entrance to the secondary school No. 22 named after J. Rasulov, next to the Komil store, near OOU No. 10 and #8.
Those responsible for this case stated that the mentioned neighborhoods were not chosen by chance, the project participants themselves study in these schools or live in these neighborhoods and have witnessed that not all schoolchildren, passers-by, shop owners and residents feel a high responsibility for protecting the environment.
The organizers of this program decided that in the future they will actively participate in the protection of the environment and the cleanliness of the city of Khujand.
