Reducing the risk of climate change by raising environmental awareness and stakeholder engagement                 

                                          

Climate change is one of the most important problems of our time and worries the entire world community. It is necessary to take timely measures to adapt to climate change and prevent its negative consequences.

The Main Department of Environmental Protection of the Sughd region has a fruitful long-term cooperation with the Public Organization "Youth Group for Environmental Protection" to improve the state of the environment and increase the level of environmental knowledge of young people.

A round table was held at the Sogdian Hotel in Khujand on the topic “Reducing the risk of climate change by increasing environmental awareness and involving stakeholders”.

Since 2021, in order to implement the "Comprehensive State Program for the Development of Education and Environmental Awareness of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025", as a partner in the main development of the Main Directorate for Environmental Protection, the Public Organization "Youth Group for Environmental Protection", in order to increase the level environmental education and access to environmental information with the support of the US Embassy in the Republic of Tajikistan, a number of events were held: round tables, trainings, meetings and conversations.

The main goal of the project is to increase the level of people's knowledge, as well as to promote closer cooperation between the parties to take measures to prevent the negative effects of climate change and environmental pollution.

Until the end of 2023, it is planned to hold a number of such events, where specialists from the environmental authorities of the region will continue to cooperate with this public organization.
