Recall that the delegations of the Central Asian countries decided to take part in the Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2023) in order to determine and agree on the next steps to implement the Paris Agreement and consider appropriate measures to prevent climate change in the region.
The conference will be held with the participation of representatives of the relevant ministries of the Central Asian countries, international organizations, the civil sector and scientific institutions.
This summit, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, is organized by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia and the World Bank.
The purpose of the conference is to study the problems and shortcomings of the fulfillment by the countries of Central Asia of the climate obligations of the Paris Agreement, to consider the possibilities of regional cooperation and increase the sustainability of environmental, water, energy and food resources in the region.
In the Central Asian region, solving climate problems and adapting to climate change is possible only through regional cooperation, therefore the conference serves as a platform for promoting and expanding regional dialogue on cooperation and coordination of actions on national climate priorities and climate finance.
This conference is a preparatory stage for the creation of the next Central Asian pavilion at the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP-28), which presents the concepts, ideas and strategies for sustainable climate transformation of the countries of the region.
The conference will be held in a hybrid form.
