Bilateral meetings of the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the sidelines of the UN-2023 Water Conference                       

On March 24, 2023, on the sidelines of the UN Water Conference-2023 in the city of New York, United States of America, bilateral meetings were held between the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sheralizod Bahodur, and Ms. Maryam bint Muhammad Said Hareb Almhairi, Minister for Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mr. Tuan Ibrahim, Minister of Environment Protection and Water Resources of Malaysia.

During the meetings, Sheralizoda Bahodur discussed the issue of cooperation between countries in the field of environmental protection and climate change. Also, special attention was paid to the next initiative of the Founder of National Peace and Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to declare 2025 the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers, which was adopted by a resolution of the UN General Assembly.

In the final part of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between Tajikistan and the above countries in the field of climate change and environmental protection. Also, the head of the Committee invited Ms. Maryam bint Muhammad Said Khareb Almhairi, Mr. Mukhtar Babaev and Mr. Tuan Ibrahim to visit the Republic of Tajikistan at a convenient time for them.
