Discussing the adoption of a resolution by the UN General Assembly declaring 2025 as the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers                                

On December 23 this year, in the meeting room of the Department of Environmental Protection in the Sughd region, a meeting was organized for employees of departments and sectors of management to support the resolution of the UN General Assembly regarding the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, to declare 2025 the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers.

To this end, the head of the center of the hydromedical center Khamidov A. spoke with information about the glaciers of Tajikistan and their current state, the largest rivers and the adoption of the resolution "2025 - International Year for the Protection of Glaciers" by the UN General Assembly during its 77th session on December 14 this year which was nominated by the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was noted that the next initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, was supported by 153 UN member states.

At the same time, it was noted that from the beginning of 2025, March 21 will be celebrated as the "International Day for the Protection of Glaciers", which was unanimously supported by the staff of the Main Directorate of the region.
