Organization and holding of an ecological winter camp in the city of Gulistan

In order to implement the "State comprehensive Program for the development of environmental education and enlightenment of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2021-2025", the Main Department of Environmental Protection in Sughd region regularly organizes various events together with the public organization "Youth Group for Environmental Protection"/The Aarhus Center in Khujand makes a valuable contribution to understanding new knowledge in the field of environmental protection and solving environmental problems.

It is worth noting that improving the environmental literacy of the population is one of the main tasks of the activities of environmental authorities, and significant work is being carried out in this direction.

From November 30 to December 3 of this year, a winter environmental camp was organized and held at the Training Center of the National Bank of Tajikistan in the city of Gulistan.

The environmental camp was attended by 21 students, young journalists, environmental activists, bloggers, representatives of public organizations from the Sughd, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and the city of Dushanbe.

During three days, experts and specialists of the Main Department of Environmental Protection, university professors, media representatives, and other specialists related to journalism and the preparation of social projects and videos provided information on various topics to the camp participants.

On the fourth day, 7 teams from the camp participants presented small projects to the jury members. At the end of the ecological camp, all participants were awarded certificates.

It should be noted that the above event was held within the framework of the Project "Reducing the negative effects of climate change by improving environmental literacy and involving stakeholders" with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Tajikistan.
