Holding a side event «NDC Implementation in Asia: South-South Learning and Launching of CACCI-Asia» at the Pavilion of the Republic of Tajikistan under the framework of COP-27
On November 11 of this year, the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), held a side event on the topic “Implementation of NDCs in Asia: South-South training and the launch of CACCI-Asia” at the Pavilion of the Republic of Tajikistan which is organized by the Committee at the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Sharm-El-Sheikh.
This side event focuses on the implementation of NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions), including the topics of South-South learning in Asia through the USAID CACCI approach and the role of regional partnerships in implementing climate action. The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss and raise awareness at the regional and sub-regional levels on climate change issues, as well as initiate dialogue with potential donors to further expand NDC implementation initiatives.
It should be noted that this side event was attended and addressed by the Bahodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Pablo Vieira, Global Director of the NDC Partnership, Ms. Ann Vaughan, Senior Advisor for Climate Change, Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, USAID, Ms. Yasmine Siddiqui, Director, Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture, Asian Development Bank.
