Environmental campaigns for the cleanliness of the capital                                                                                            

In pursuance of the instructions of the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the cleanliness and order of the banks of rivers and canals, water sources, the territory of cities and towns, organizations, institutions and ministries and on behalf of the state control bodies of the Main Department of Environmental Protection in Dushanbe this year, 36 campaigns "Clean Coast" and 29 campaigns "Clean Area". One of the priority issues is the cleanliness of reservoirs, city territories, neighborhoods, residential buildings, ministries and departments.

In order to ensure the cleanliness of the capital, together with the executive authorities of the districts of the city of Dushanbe and the Main Department of Environmental Protection, environmental campaigns are held in the city of Dushanbe with the active participation of residents of the city and microdistricts, members of communities and public organizations.

It should be noted that during the 36 environmental campaigns "Clean Coast" held on the banks of the Varzob, Dushanbe, Luchob, Kofarnigan and Govkush, Chortut, Gissar, Ak-Kurgan canals, 35,017 meters of rivers and canal banks were cleaned, and 3410.5 m3 of solid household waste was taken to the official landfill with the help of 94 special equipment public utilities.

In order to ensure environmental protection, cleanliness of the territory of cities and microdistricts, as well as raising awareness and ecological culture of residents, the Main Department of Environmental Protection of the city of Dushanbe held the campaign "Clean Area" 29 times on the territory of the microdistricts of the capital during this period, 591.5 m3 of waste was collected and taken to the official landfill.

Currently, the Main Department of Environmental Protection of the city of Dushanbe has decided to hold such actions by the end of this year to ensure environmental protection, especially in the areas of cities, microdistricts, as well as along the banks of rivers and canals.
