Results of the action "Clean environment is a guarantee of human health" in Varzob district                                                                                     

On September 3, the Aarhus Resource Center of the Committee for Environmental Protection, together with the department of environmental protection in the Varzob district, as part of the ecological month and dedicated to the celebration of the State Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan with the involvement of employees of various organizations and institutions, as well as teachers and students of educational institutions No. 7, 12 Varzob district and volunteers of the Committee held an action "Ecological cleanliness - a guarantee of human health" in the villages of Shaftimichgon and Varzobkala.

The action participants collected plastic garbage and tin cans along the Dushanbe-Khujand highway, cleared the areas assigned to them from weeds and watered the planted seedlings.

In the courtyard of the above educational institutions, the head of the Aarhus Center, Jamoliddin Yakubov, presented to the audience information about the water initiatives of Tajikistan and the essence of the Aarhus Convention. Naimjon Nematzoda, Deputy Head of the Department of State Control over the Use and Protection of Land Resources, Waste and Minerals Management, spoke about plastic materials, their harm to the environment and the actions of the Committee to reduce plastic materials.

In order to better understand the problem, especially the damage to plastic materials, volunteers handed out informational leaflets to schoolchildren “Harmful of plastic for the environment and human health”.

It should be noted that after the speeches of the speakers, questions and answers, a discussion and exchange of views took place among the participants.

Since the event was held in the Varzob district, it can be concluded that the residents of the district, teachers of these schools are serious about the issue of waste management, especially polyethylene and plastic waste.

More than 80 students and teachers of the above-mentioned schools took part in the action "Environmental cleanliness is the guarantee of human health". It should be said that the holding of such events will contribute to the implementation of the plan of the State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Education of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.
