Inception Workshop on Presentation of the Secretariat on the Implementation of the Nationally Determined Contribution in the Republic of Tajikistan                                                                

The Inception Workshop on the presentation of the Secretariat on the implementation of the Nationally Determined Contribution in the Republic of Tajikistan was held on August 5, 2022, in the Hilton Hotel, Dushanbe.

The main purpose of this event, which was initiated by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development in Tajikistan (USAID), is to present the plan for implementation of the nationally determined contribution with a number of ministries and agencies, sectoral development partners, donor organizations and other stakeholders.

Activities on the issues under consideration will help identify key partners for the implementation of the national plan to implement the Defined Contribution in priority sectors, including transport, energy, water, industry, agriculture, forestry, and other sectors.

It is worth noting that the Republic of Tajikistan joined the Nationally Determined Contribution Partnership in March 2019.

For this purpose, in 2021, the Republic of Tajikistan updated the Nationally Determined Contribution and submitted it to the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Climate Change, which includes decisive actions towards adaptation and mitigation of climate impacts, changes to ensure sustainable and effective development, addressing environmental and socio-economic issues.

This document includes measures that the republic intends to implement in the period up to 2030.
