Round table on "Climate finance and private sector involvement in addressing climate change"                                             

On June 21, at the Hilton Hotel in Dushanbe, on the initiative of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, together with the United Nations Development Program and the UK Development Office in Central Asia, the first meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development of an Action Plan for the implementation of the "National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Republic of Tajikistan" was held.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Qiyomzoda Zarafo Sufijon took part and spoke at the round table.

Then representatives of ministries and departments that are part of the working group on the development of an Action Plan for the implementation of the "National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change of the Republic of Tajikistan" discussed issues and expressed their opinion on improving this Program.

The purpose of this meeting was to provide access to ministries and departments, commercial banks and the private sector to various sources of financing from special climate funds (grants and soft loans) for the implementation of priority national projects, as well as to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies.
