National Consultation on Climate Policy Development in Central Asia                                      

On June 8 this year, in the conference hall of the Rumi Hotel in Dushanbe, the “National Consultation on the Development of Climate Policy in Central Asia” was held with the participation of representatives of ministries and departments, industry experts. The event was supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCDO) as part of Phase II of the Political Action Plan for Climate Security in Central Asia.

The event was opened by the opening speech of the representative of the Committee on Environmental Protection, Juraev Abdusalim, who noted the ongoing policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in relation to climate change, the measures and plans taken.

During the event, Sarah Optimis-Stapleton and Vikram Panwar, international experts, presented the results of the study “Managing Climate Risk to Protect Green Energy Goals: Key Findings and Recommendations” and “Opportunities and Benefits of Transitioning to a Low-Carbon Economy in Tajikistan”.

In the discussion of the above issues, a free discussion and questions and answers were held.
