Commissioning of the new building of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan

November 19, Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Parliament Mazhlisi Milli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, respected Rustami Emomali put into operation a new building of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government Republic of Tajikistan located in Sino district of Dushanbe.

The new building of the Agency for Hydrometeorology consists of 6 floors and a basement and was built in a modern style with national elements of urban planning. Construction work at the new facility began in 2020 and was completed in a short time at a high-quality level.

The building consists of 71 rooms, three meeting rooms, and ancillary facilities. For effective work of employees, offices are equipped with modern and advanced information and communication technologies. In accordance with the project, technical and service premises are located in the basement of the main building. The total number of the Agency's employees with attendants is 775 people.

During his acquaintance, the President of the country, respected Emomali Rahmon, with the meteorological center, offices, a center for the study of glaciers, and other created opportunities, highly appreciated the quality of the work performed. The laboratory building of the Agency for Hydrometeorology consists of two floors, where there are 20 rooms.

The laboratory is equipped with modern equipment for testing surface water, air quality, and testing and repairing meteorological instruments. The Agency for Hydrometeorology of Tajikistan has 3 branches, 5 departments, and 5 centers equipped with modern meteorological equipment.

During the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the direct support of the President of the country, respected Emomali Rahmon, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the CEP was transformed into a large information center with modern infrastructure and advanced equipment.

During the conversation with the employees of the Agency for Hydrometeorology, the President of the country, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon emphasized that in the context of climate change, the activities of workers, thanks to the created modern conditions, equipping the new building with world-class equipment should be much more efficient, aimed at studying the state of glaciers, providing accurate and timely information population and government departments on the state of air and water.

The construction and equipping of the new building of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of Tajikistan will further contribute to the establishment of research work in the direction of studying the state of glaciers in Tajikistan, the implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028", improving the quality and accuracy of forecasts, warnings about the state and sharp changes in the weather of the relevant ministries and the population of the republic.
