International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer

On the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and with the support of the UNDP in Tajikistan, an environmental quiz was held in secondary school #94 in Dushanbe to mark the International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer.

Students were informed about the purpose of the Day of Ozone Layer Protection and relevant international conferences related to the Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, to which Tajikistan joined in 1995.

In order to prevent the destruction of the ozone layer, the authorized body annually prepares and conducts a number of activities to protect the ozone layer. In particular, in accordance with the instruction of the management of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan an action plan is developed to raise awareness of students and the public on prevention of the ozone layer.

At the end of the event, employees of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan handed out gifts to students who actively participated in the environmental quiz.
