An information meeting and environmental action under the slogan "The future without plastic!" in the city of Istaravshan

According to the plan, in Istaravshan the Department of Environmental Protection of Sughd region together with the NGO "Safi" within the "World without plastic products" project with the support of UNICEF held an information meeting and action "The future without plastic".

The action was attended by representatives of Istaravshan city executive structures, environmental protection bodies, township and village Jamoats, chairmen of mahalla committees, entrepreneurs, active city residents, the youth sector of the city, volunteers and members of the public organization "followers of the leader of the nation". A representative of the regional environmental protection department made a speech and gave detailed information about the harm of plastic products. It was noted that this project was implemented in order to reduce the impact of plastic materials on human health and society as a whole.

The purpose of such information meetings is to raise environmental awareness and fulfill the requirements of the action plan "Integrated State Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Training of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025". The main goal of the project is to organize recycling facilities for plastic waste in the future and to organize the production of paper bags from fabric. During the campaign, which took place near the largest store in Istaravshan, 500 paper bags and 500 cloth bags were distributed to the public. All participants were encouraged to support this proposal in the name of public health and keeping the city clean.
