Prevention of air pollution and “Clean Air” campaign in Penjikent

In order to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere in the cities and districts of Sughd region, work is regularly carried out under the Clean Air program.

According to the plan, specialists of the Environmental Protection Sector of the city of Penjikent, together with employees of the Environmental and Tourist Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, conducted an operation in Zarafshan district to determine the amount of pollutants released into the atmosphere from vehicles as a result of burning diesel fuel, gasoline and liquefied gas on the Ayni-Penjikent highway.

During this operation, only 20 vehicles of different brands were analyzed, and the drivers of 3 vehicles who violated state standards and released an excessive amount of pollutants (CO2) into the air were charged with an administrative offense, the relevant documents were sent to the traffic police of the city for taking measures.
