Training on raising awareness on integrated management of water and land resources resilient to climate change
In March, 2022 a series of trainings on raising awareness on integrated management of water and land resources resilient to climate change was held withing the framework of the "An integrated landscape approach to enhancing the climate resilience of small-scale farmers and pastoralists in Tajikistan" Project.
Introductory seminars on the ground (in districts, jamoats) in the course of assessing the available water, land, pasture resources, social, climatic, environmental, gender, educational, landscape living conditions of the population in the area of coverage areas allocated by the project in accordance with certain criteria.
The seminars were aimed both at getting acquainted with the project goals and objectives, developing a strategy for watershed management in the Kafirnigan river basin, and at identifying participants in further training programs in jamoats and villages, who in the future will become members of working groups on watershed management on the ground.
Introductory workshops were held in 3 target areas of the project:
1. Nosiri Khusrav District
2. Shaartuz region
3. Kabodiyon district
Total of 97 representatives of hukumats and jamoats of districts, AMI and district water management, local CEP units, members of WUAs, APHs, NGOs, farmers, etc participated in the workshops. 30% of participants in all seminars were women.
