Training workshop dedicated to the Day of Combating Desertification and Drought
On June 14 this year, on the initiative of the Aarhus Centre of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought in the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S. Aini within the implementation of the "Integrated State Programme of Environmental Education and Training for 2021-2025" was held a training workshop on "Green Economy" - the fundamental basis for sustainable development. Teachers and students of the faculty of geography of this university, employees and specialists of the central office of the Committee on Environmental Protection, the Main Department of Environmental Protection in Dushanbe and volunteers took part in the event.
After opening remarks of the Dean of the Faculty of Geography Kalandarov A. and Chief Specialist of the Department of Monitoring, Environmental Policy, Meteorology and Cadastre of the Committee for Environmental Protection Eshonov A., Head of the Aarhus Center of the Committee Yakubov Y. made a report "Ways of implementation of the Aarhus Convention in the Republic of Tajikistan". During the report, along with the project activities of Aarhus Centers in the regions, an emphasis was placed on their role in implementing the "Integrated State Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Training of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025".
Then Eshonov A., Chief Specialist of the Department for Monitoring, Environmental Policy, Meteorology and Cadastre of the Committee for Environmental Protection, made a report and presentation on "Land Conservation".
K. Ibragimov, Senior Lecturer of the Geoecology Department of S. Aini TSTU, also delivered a report on "Green economy: fundamental basis of sustainable development" at the workshop.
Having listened to the reports, the participants of the seminar, mainly teachers of the university, noted that they gained new knowledge and information and proposed to organize similar training seminars from specialists of other departments and divisions of the Committee in the future.
