On October 9-11, 2019 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the Regional Partnership Workshop on the 11th Aichi Target on specially protected natural areas and the Regional Workshop on Natural UNESCO World Heritage List were held.
The workshops were attended by 30 representatives of ministries and departments of environmental protection in the Central Asia, Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and international consultants from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Center for Environmental Monitoring (WCMC).
Presentations and discussions on the methods and rules for providing information and data on specially protected areas and their inclusion in the Global Database on Protected Areas and a list of potential sites for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List were performed during the workshop.
Employees of the Research Laboratory for Nature Protection and the National Center for the Implementation of the National Environmental Action Plan under the Committee for Environmental Protection of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan attended the seminar and demonstrated presentations on the specially protected natural areas of the Republic of Tajikistan and potential sites for inclusion in the Natural UNESCO World Heritage List.
