According to instructions of the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and within the framework of the Capital Day – the city of Dushanbe, in the Sino district, an ecological action “Cleanliness of the Shore” was held.
The action took place on the banks of the Dushanbe River, in which workers of municipal services, the education department of the Sino district, and residents of the Karamirshikor area took an active part. As a result of this action, 32 cubic meters of municipal solid waste was collected and 246 meters of garbage were cleared along the coastline. The collected waste was taken to the municipal dump by the special equipment of the Dushanbe Highway Administration.
In addition, in order to raise awareness and environmental education of the population, prevent waste dumping into rivers and canals, inappropriate places, ensure the cleanliness of drinking water and promote the improvement of the city on the Day of the capital, employees of the Environmental Protection Department held meetings and conversations with residents of the Karamirshikor makhalla in Dushanbe.
During the meetings with the population, it was noted about the importance of maintaining public order, improvement, and sanitation in Dushanbe, as well that residents take an active part in the environmental campaigns “Cleanliness of the Shore” and “Cleanliness of the Territory” in accordance with the action plan of the executive body of the city of Dushanbe, introducing their own contribution to environmental protection of the city.
