In connection with the fears of citizens about the felling of trees on the bank of the “Gissar Canal”, which was published on social networks, the environmental authorities say that the felling of trees is carried out in connection with the cleaning of the canal.
According to the established norms, planting trees for hydraulic structures, including irrigation canals, is prohibited. Taking into account the efficiency of irrigation of the canal, it is necessary to clean the inner part of it from dirt and slag. To clean the canal, it is necessary to ensure the unhindered movement of the technician and to clean the canal.
Most of the trees cut down are wild and the dropping of their leaves and stems prevents the canal runoff from moving and clearing. In this regard, in the process of cleaning this channel, pruning of trees is carried out within the framework of the current legislation and agreed with the authorized state body.
Note that in accordance with a bilateral agreement with the Republic of Uzbekistan, the cleaning of the “Gissar Canal” will be carried out by specialists from the neighboring country and the volume of the canal will be increased.
At the same time, it should be noted that the cleaning of this canal will contribute to the water supply of the population and the development of agriculture in the regions located downstream.
